Cookie policy
This site (the "Portal") uses cookies for the following purposes: performing computer authentication and monitoring sessions. This document provides detailed information on the use of cookies and similar technologies, how they are used on the Portal, and how to manage them. Visitors can configure their browser to be notified when cookies are received, or to refuse them. Cookie acceptance can be disabled by changing your browser settings. 1. Definition
Cookies are short pieces of text (letters and/or numbers) that let a web server store information in your browser to reuse during the same visit (session cookies) or later, even days afterwards (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, according to the user's preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone).
2. Types of cookies
2.1. There are several categories of cookies, with different characteristics and uses:
- Technical / necessary cookies:
indispensable for the Portal to work correctly, used solely to carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or strictly necessary to provide an information-society service explicitly requested by the user. Their use does not require the user's consent.
Legal basis: the Controller's legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). - Functional cookies:
store user preferences (language, currency, display settings) to improve the browsing experience without tracking the user across other sites.
Legal basis: user consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). - Analytics cookies:
used to collect and analyze site traffic and usage anonymously. Though they don't identify the user, they let the site detect, for example, repeat visits over time, monitor performance, and improve usability. Disabling them causes no loss of functionality.
Legal basis: user consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Where data is aggregated anonymously with no possibility of re-identification, processing may instead rely on legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). - Profiling / marketing cookies:
persistent cookies used to identify user preferences and serve targeted advertising or content, including via third-party advertising networks.
Legal basis: the user's explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. - Third-party cookies:
(analytics and/or profiling) generated by organizations other than the Site but embedded in parts of its pages — e.g. Google widgets (Google Maps) or social plugins (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn).
Legal basis: user consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), as described in each third-party provider's own privacy notice.
2.2. Information collected by "third parties" is governed by their own privacy notices, linked below for convenience.
3. Managing and disabling cookies from your browser
3.1. You can decide whether or not to accept cookies using your browser's settings.
3.2. Content remains accessible even with cookies fully disabled, with the exception of "session" cookies if you want to sign in; disabling "third-party" cookies does not affect the Site's browsability.
3.3. Settings can be defined per site/app. Most browsers also let you set different rules per cookie type:
